WWF addresses global threats to people and nature such as climate change, the peril to endangered species and habitats, and the unsustainable consumption of the world's natural resources. They do this by influencing how governments, businesses and people think, learn and act in relation to the world around us, and by working with local communities to improve their livelihoods and the environment upon which we all depend. WWF uses its practical experience, knowledge and credibility to create long-term solutions for the planet's environment.
There are many ways you can help fund the WWF including adopting an animal (either elephant, panda, tiger, rhino, polar bear, dolphin, leopard, penguin, snow leopard, turtle or orangutan), signing up for WWF membership, buying someone an ecological gift from the WWF Shop or just by changing the way you live and reducing your carbon footprint.
WWF works to ensure a healthy future for people, species and their habitats, addressing global threats like climate change and environmental degradation. for as little as £3 per month, you'll receive a member's handbook, WWF tips on reducing your own carbon footprint, a pair of wildlife fridge magnets and 3 issues of WWF Action magazine. How your donations to WWF Charity will be used?
We are living in a decisive period of human history. With the natural environment now under greater pressure than ever before, the consequences for both people and nature will be disastrous unless we act now. WWF is at the heart of efforts to create the solutions we need and make this vision a reality by addressing the following:
- Safeguarding the natural world by protecting wildlife and their habitats including forests, rivers, lakes and oceans
- Tackling climate change by seeking cuts in emissions at a UK, EU and global level to prevent global temperatures rising dangerously
- Changing the way we live by reducing our carbon footprint through changes in food production, housing, transport, investment and education
WWF aims to achieve these objectives by campaigning and working with governments, local authorities, businesses, schools and communities in the UK and around the world.
With almost five million supporters, the WWF Network is a powerful force for change. Being part of this global network means they can work collaboratively, pooling their collective resources and talents, and focusing on activities that have the most impact worldwide.
