World Gifts for a gift that makes a difference. It's a range of alternative gifts that act as two presents in one - something for you to give to friends or relatives on special occasions, whilst the real gift can help change the life of someone living in poverty.

World Gifts are a range of charity gifts that will delight the people you give them to and help transform the lives of poor communities and families in the developing world.

Each World Gift is a real example of CAFOD's work. When you choose a gift, you support the area of their work that this gift represents. So, for example, when you buy chickens, you support their work with poor farmers in rural areas of the developing world by contributing to their Livestock, Agriculture and Livelihoods Fund.

World Gifts are provided by CAFOD, the Catholic aid agency, and a member of Caritas International, a worldwide network of Catholic relief and development organisations. They work with more than 500 partners in some of the poorest communities in the world, listening to their needs and helping them to find their own solutions. They work with all people regardless of race, gender, religion or nationality. Gifts that make a difference!

How your donations to World Gifts (CAFOD Charity) will be used?

World Gifts are real examples of CAFOD's work, but the gifts are also representative of much, much more than just the specific item you are buying. Each World Gift belongs to one of five funds they have created, covering different types of work:

• Education and Skills Training - giving people the chance to learn life-changing skills
• Livestock, Agriculture and Livelihoods - making a world of difference to many communities, especially in rural areas
• Water and Food - ensuring that people on the poverty line have access to these basic but vital needs
• Health and Care - giving people who are in desperate need of medical attention the chance of safe recovery
• Emergency, Conflict and Rehabilitation - helping people who have lost everything get back on their feet

World Gifts have great gifts ranging from £4.50 for coloured pencils right up to £5,000 for a place to live so there should be something for everyone. With more than 24 different gifts available your present will delight the person you give it to and help transform the lives of people fighting poverty in the developing world.
